castle, furnished, 120 sqmt
This magnificent castle was built in the 17th century. It has been beautifully renovated in recent years by the current owner. The castle offers a variety of comfortable holiday accommodations. The building's historic character has been preserved as much as possible. This, combined with modern facilities creates an ideal combination of old and new. The castle nestles amongst rolling hills near the town of Pelhřimov. It enjoys delightful views of the surrounding mountains and forests. The village of Libkova Voda has just 208 inhabitants and is very tranquil. You can reach interesting, historic cities such as Tabor, České Budějovice, Jindřichův Hradec and Telč within an hour. General: 1 hall, 1 livingroom (double sofa bed, TV (flatscreen), home cinema system), 1 open plan kitchen (oven, microwave, dishwasher), 1 bedroom (2 x double bed), 1 bedroom (2 x single bed), 1 bathroom (bath, shower, toilet), patio, garden (shared), garden furniture. Just a few minutes from the chateau, you’ll find yourself in woodland dotted with many lakes and ponds. A road or mountain bike is ideal for exploring the countryside, although you’ll need to be in fairly good shape (you’re going to have to cycle up hills!). You can purchase maps with cycle routes in Pelhřimov TIC (Tourist Information Centre), and bicycles can also be hired in Pelhřimov for approx. 250 CZK (+/- 10 euro) per day. Local countryside: While walking or cycling in the surroundings, you can’t help but admire the apple and plum trees growing along the paths. Especially in August when the trees are bursting with apples and plums, they are particularly picturesque and the fruit taste wonderful! The countryside is of variable nature – you can find here woods, fields, ponds, hills and more. You can spot deer and other woodland animals in the fields at dusk. Road quality in the Czech Republic can vary. There are few motorways here, and the roads often go through small villages. Car journeys are fairly slow, but it’s great for admiring the countryside. Local towns: Whenever you visit any of the local towns, you’ll be able to get a tasty lunch for a reasonable price. Menus are usually also available in German and staff will understand and speak some German. Almost all towns have an information centre where you can pick up information leaflets, usually in German, English, and sometimes Dutch too. Most staff will speak German or English. Guided tours of museums, castle and chateaus are mainly provided in Czech. However very often accompanying texts are available in foreign languages. We were only able to look inside the castles and chateaus we visited if accompanied by a guide. A number of them offered a choice of tours. The tours lasted around 45-60 minutes. It is very rare to be able to look inside a church. We never had any problem parking, and although the car parks are usually paid, the cost is always very low. Pelhřimov: 5 kilometres from Libkova Voda lies the town of Pelhřimov. Pelhřimov has a wonderfully square-shaped square with beautifully decorated buildings. When the weather is good, sit outside on one of the restaurant terraces to while away some time in pleasant surroundings. You have access to anything you need in Pelhřimov. There are a number of supermarkets with various opening hours, besides numerous smaller shops, where you can purchase fresh fruit and vegetables and bakery products. The chateau in the centre is now the location of a museum. You can also climb up the church tower, from where there is a wonderful view over the town and surrounding countryside. Further information can be found in the tourist information brochures to be found in your chateau suite. Tabor: Tábor is a pleasant town approximately 45 minutes from Libkova Voda. There are many wonderful sites to see here, including the square with beautifully painted houses, an underground system and the church, which is accessible to the public. The castle is the location for a museum where you can visit an exhibition on how life used to be lived, and there is also a view tower with a fantastic view over the town. There is another museum located on the square, from where you can visit the town's underground. You can also visit an exhibition on the history of the Hussite movement and its characters. If you would like a tour in a foreign language, you need to reserve in advance on tel ... Otherwise, there are texts available in English and Dutch. České Budějovice: A 1,5 hour car journey away lies the beautiful city of České Budějovice. There are many wonderful buildings and castles to see here. We would also recommend visiting the monastery, which is open to the public. The exquisite frescos really make it worth it. You will also admire the beautifully decorated buildings on the square here too. When we visited the museum, only some sections were open. The rooms we saw were decorated with a huge number of stuffed animals who were locally caught. There is also an exhibition on the history of the region. The museum is open daily from 9am, except Monday. Jindřichův Hradec: We consider this historical town to be particularly beautiful. As in other towns, here you can find a beautiful church, which you can tour with a guide. We consider this to be the most beautiful church we were able to visit. Jindřichův Hradec also has a small but very interesting museum. The largest traditional mechanical nativity scene is to be found here! In other rooms, you can view numerous pictures and statues, antique furniture etc. This museum is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommended. Here again, the buildings in the square are beautifully decorated. Telč: Approximately ¾ hour drive from Libkova Voda lies the picturesque town of Telč. Here you can also find an exquisite church (choose from three tours), a square with a fountain and beautifully decorated buildings, many still in renaissance style. We highly recommend visiting the church! The romantic castle of Červená Lhota: Further away from Libkova Voda, though still within comfortable reach, lies this romantic fairytale castle on a rock in the middle of a lake. There are wonderful walks to be had in the surroundings. The ruined castle of Choustník: After battling some of those hills, you will see towering before you this majestic ruined castle, which is well worth a visit. Opening times can be found in the brochure to be found in your chateau suite. Walking: There are many walking trails around Libkova Voda. These trails are well-marked with signposts. The area around the hill Křemešník is great for walking. It is also very suitable for parents with children. A 'survival park' for small children and a ball pool are located in front of the Křemešník hotel at the top of the hill. We decided to go for a walk in the Čeřínek forest area, which is a natural park, and also the most well-known ski resort in Vysočina. You can find here extensive forests where you can walk for hours and hardly meet a soul. We would also recommend a walk at Soběslavská Blata, near Soběslav. This is an area which was originally bogland, now gone, and is well-known these days for its traditional villages with unique country houses in so-called country-baroque style. The Czech Republic is a great place for spending your holiday. We are located in an area where you can spend your time visiting beautiful castles, chateaus, churches and other sites, enjoy the peace and quiet and relax. The young or young-at-heart can enjoy the buzzing night life in Pelhřimov. Taxis from here to the chateau are not expensive. After spending a holiday with us, you will leave full of unforgettable experiences and looking forward to your return visit! http://www.arkadia.com/eurl-t46064/
